Initial stills from Gandhi--My Father

Here are some more stills from Gandhi--My Father (courtesy: Mid-day) I can't help but keep looking at them again and again.

The movie was made right after Hungama and Akshaye had nothing else to do for over a year. It says a lot about the state of Bollywood that a lead actor as talented and as charismatic as him should have no work for over an year. It's plain that this movie taught him a lot as an actor and he grew a lot during its making. After reaching such heights, he has been relegated to do mindless comedies like Shaadi Se Pehle and vapid romances like Aap ki Khatir.

Never mind. The movie finally gives him the stage that is commensurate to his immense talent. One can only hope that after it releases the myopic film industry will finally realise what a gem of an actor it has in its midst.

Akshaye Khanna may have "been relegated to do mindless comedies like Shaadi Se Pehle and vapid romances like Aap ki Khatir", as clearly appeared! But, he didn't look as if he was disinterested in terms of acting skills! Akshaye Khanna signed any good scripts that were offered to him! What are his faults, if directors went wrong in terms of filming and shooting processes! A team (casts and crews) ought to have team spirit and self-motivation to work hard for the betterment of the film!
Anyway, I'm sure that Akshaye Khanna's performance will be appreciated in Gandhi, My Father as always...even if the film and direction worked poorly at box-office! Remember that Akshaye Khanna's performance was appreciated among the cast in flop movie Aap Ki Khatir, break-even movie Shaadi Se Pehle and average movie 36, China Town! Even in Salaam-e-Ishq, Akshaye Khanna's performance was exceptional as mentioned by Taran Adarsh (critic's review)! Any movies staring Akshaye Khanna may be(expectedly or unexpectedly) poor but the performance of Akshaye Khanna will be always good!

I know he always shine even in mediocre movies but when will directors start recognising his talent? It just takes my breath away that such a treasurehouse of talent should not be tapped eagerly!
