Emraan Hashmi, you're a moron

Emraan Hashmi is furious. Recently there were reports in the media about Akshaye Khanna reportedly telling a friend that if Emraan demanded Rs 5 crore per film, how much should Akshaye's market price be!

Says a source, "Emraan was livid on reading Akshaye's comment. He is really pissed off."

When contacted, Emraan retorted that he isn't upset. "I don't want to talk about this. I don't even know Akshaye Khanna and we have never spoken to each other," he said.

However, when we probed further, Emraan said, "Let me make life simpler for Akshaye. He wants to know how much he should get, right? Well, I think he should get Rs 2 crore per film."

Emraan Hashmi
Only Rs 2 crore? Hinting at the fact that Akshaye's recent films haven't done well at the box-office (Mere Baap Pehle Aap being the recent-most example), Emraan said, "Yeah, Rs 2 crore should be just fine."

"A certain section of the industry just want to discuss other people's lives. This is not done. Besides, I am very happy with the kind of work that I have done in the industry so far. The success of Jannat was sweet," Emraan added.

Emraan's friend added, "A few people in the film industry feel that it is their domain to decide which actor should charge how much. How much better it would be for all of us if they refrained from voicing their frustrations aloud."

First of all, there's no record of Akshaye saying such a thing. It was reported by Times of India in an omnibus report and there too the quote was attributed to a "friend". Which means TOI simply made it up.

Secondly, even if MBPA is a "failure", it collected in its first week what your so-called superhit movie colelcted in its entire run.

Thirdly, it's not Akshaye who is setting your price, it's you who are doing that you dumb moron.

Finally, do we have to repeat this again? It's kind of ridiculous that you'd compare yourself with Akshaye. You aren't one tenth of an actor he is. Vaccumming out girls is not acting.

Well I don't know whether its true or not, but if it was true- Akshaye shouldn't have said that. Emraan Hashmi has been doing well for himself at the box office- like him or not- the guy's movies with the Bhatt camp have done exceptionally well at the box office- like Gangster, Murder, and now Jannat. He's got a record going for himself under the Bhatts, and an actor's salary depends upon the box office business. Akshaye has not been getting much box office success overall barring Race- which is a multistarrer- meaning all the stars contributed to its success, not Akshaye on his own. He doesn't really have a justified reason to shoot up his salary overall given how bad his movies have done these past few years.

^You are talking about Box-Office? What about the talent? Which is being underestimated and underutilized.

Perhaps, you have not notice this fact that most directors (Bhatt, Basu and Suri) gave a very good scripts and author-backed role to Emraan Hashmi and directed him as an actor. Emraan Hashmi is a very good actor. He has proved it in Jannat, Awarapan and Gangster.

As for Akshaye Khanna, he got a ungaranteed good script without author-backed role (like Race which Saif got credit, Gandhi My Father which Shefali and Darshan got credit along with Akshaye, Dil Chahta Hai, Saif got the credit, Bobby Deol got the credit for Humraaz, among others). Yet, Akshaye Khanna stood out in the crowd like in Dil, Chahta Hai, Humraaz, Salaam-e-Ishq, 36 China Town, etc. Why? It's because of Akshoo's own incredible talent. This means that Akshoo is a very very good actor and one of the best talents. Also, he is definitely better than Emraan Hashmi. Unfortunately, no one has given him a movie where he can be called as the solo actor and great hero like Jannat, Awaarapan, Guru, Chak De India, Taare Zameen Par, Woh Lamhe, Namestey London, Jab We Met, Tere Naam etc.

I agree with you!

I'm still clueless about why top directors are not approaching this extremely talented actor like Akshaye Khanna with an author-packed role!!

It doesn't matter how good of an actor Akshaye is. In Bollywood today, its all about business at the end- why else is Emraan getting more money compared to Akshaye- well obviously because he was able to pull off solo hit on his own recently. I"m not trying to be negative about Akshaye, but this is the reality. Akshaye does not have a solo hit to his credit in recent years, and that's why producers are not convinced about paying him a lot of money. His box office records for the films he's done speaks for itself.

"Emraan getting more money compared to Akshaye- well obviously because he was able to pull off solo hit on his own recently."

That's because most of his movies which have kissing scenes and may be that's why it pulls the crowd so easily.

I don't believe in business nor do I value business and money.
I believe more in talent and I value it at the highest. And, at the end of the day, it'll be talent that will be remembered for lifetime. Also, I can say that it's all about luck that Emraan Hashmi is doing well at box-office. I must admit that Emraan is a good actor. He can slip into any character with ease. However, remember his movies like The Train, The Killer, Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Jawaani Diwani, Good Boy and Bad Boy, Chocolate, Footpath, Awarapan ...aren't not that good. All I can say is that Akshoo deserves to be paid slightly more than Emraan Hashmi. Of course, he has more hits as solo...Gangster, Murder, and now Jannat...But, it's not fair to underestimate the incredible and original actor like Akshaye Khanna.

Both Akshaye Khanna and Emraan Hashmi are my favourites. Please don't say negative things about them.

Well that's just the way it is. Accept it. I personally think its Akshaye's fault that he's not popular. He doesn't do what the other stars do to make themselves popular. I mean becoming a star in Bollywood is a two way streak- you gotta work and do whatever you can to make yourself appealing, and then the producers will think about casting you if you're an impressive candidate. Akshaye is talented, no doubt, but he falls short when it comes to styling himself well and making himself look a real bollywood hero. Look how much effort guys like Hrithik, SRK, John, Saif, Arjun, Fardeen, put in to make themselves look appealing. You know how Bollywood is, they cast actors based on how much a bollywood hero they'll look like.

Let's wait and watch the next steps to be taken by both Akshaye Khanna and his director.

I'm positive about Akshaye Khanna!

I agree that Akshaye Khanna should be paid more than Emraan Hashmi. Akshoo deserves it being an actor of great callibre. But, I prefer the way he is post 36 China Town, Salaam-e-Ishq, Naqaab, Gandhi My Father, Race and Mere Baap Pehle Aap. He always stands out as exceptional actor. No one can beat him in term of acting not even the serial kisser like Emraan Hashmi though as you are all saying that he is a good actor and I agree with you all. Akshaye Khanna doesn't need to be paid more than others. Try to recall Priyanka Chopra versus Kareena Kapoor post her negative role in Aitraaz. Now, what happen? Kareena Kapoor is being paid more than Priyanka Chopra post Jab We Met. We must be satisfied with Akshoo's performance in each of his movies. Akshoo doesn't need to do something to become popular. He is better being unique than being popular. I don't think that Akshoo is alone to be blamed if he is styled badly or wrongly. The stylists, the producers and the directors are also at faults. Why blame only Akshoo? Even Emraan Hashmi is not well-styled in some movies. Yet, Emraan is good at acting just like Akshaye Khanna. You think that Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham are appealing as actors. But, I'm not impressed with their extravaga style. It's too common post Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan (Om Shanti Om). If directors or producers cast actors based on how much a bollywood hero they'll look like, they must not forget to think whether they will do justice to the character. For instance, you can't expect John Abraham to play the role of Emraan Hashmi in Murder, Chocolate, Awarapan, Jannat, or Gangster or Saif Ali Khan to play Akshaye Khanna's role in Border, Hungama, Humraaz, Deewangi, Dil Chahta Hai, Gandhi My Father, and Race. Everyone has his own potential. Good performance is more important than a good look. For exapmle, Nana Patekar.
