Akshaye in Philippines

Akshaye Khanna seems to have had too much. No wonder he's packed his bags and is off to the Philippines for a detoxification programme.

It may be recalled that Akshaye Khanna was spotted in high spirits at the opening of a city bar, where he finally left for home with his glass in hand.

According to an eyewitness Akshaye was wobbling and seen behaving rather strangely. He was finally helped to his car by his two friends. In fact the actor was a treat for the shutterbugs forever in search of 'moments'.

Akshaye Khanna
The actor who was recently in news for holding his drinks, and literally so, right up till his car has found a new way to say 'cheers!'. His visit to the Philippines may just get him out of his hangover. A source close to the actor says, "Akshaye had been looking forward to it and he finally flew to the Philippines for a special detoxification programme."

Akshaye was shooting for Mere Baap Pehle Aap when he felt that he needed to go for this programme. Producer Mansi Maroo was completely supportive of the actor and even postponed the shooting of the promos, and some sequences with Genelia D'Souza.

When contacted, Mansi confirmed that Akshaye had indeed gone to the Philippines for detoxification. She said, "Yes, Akshaye has gone to for a detox programme. He's been working very hard continuously for the past few months over Shortcut and Mere Baap Pehle Aap. It was a much-needed break and this outing will do him some good. He told me he'll be there for around a week. After he returns he will have to shoot for a song sequence and then he'll get busy with the promotions of our film."

Akshaye is expected to return on May 18, all refreshed and geared to get back to the grind.

What is Detox?

Detox, short for detoxification, in general is the removal of toxic substances from the body. In conventional medicine, detoxification can also be achieved artificially by techniques such as dialysis and (in a very limited number of cases) chelation therapy. There is a firm scientific base in evidence-based medicine for this type of detoxification. Many alternative medicine practitioners promote various other types of detoxification.

Detoxification can also refer to the period of withdrawal during which a person's body to return to homeostasis (The ability or tendency of an organism or cell to maintain internal equilibrium by adjusting its physiological processes) after long-term use of an addictive substance.

This is the time he needs unconditional support from his fans. Keep him in your prayers.

I think that Akshaye Khanna is a very intelligent that he knows how to move on. Remember his post-Taal days...he never looses his self-confidence. That's why he came out as a winner with Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz and Deewangee. All the best, Akshaye Khanna. We are all there for you.

It seems that Akshaye Khanna is now trying to work hard - to maintain good health for himself and for movies as well. Good move!! Best of Luckk!! I'm certain that Akshoo will come back to ROCK in next movies to be signed after MBPA and Shortkut.

I hope this trip will him convince to quit smoking and drinking. He needs to take action to help himself out.

Also why not even go for a hair transpant? He's got a lot of money anyways. I'm sure it'll help him out in getting chances from directors- if he styled himself well and came out with movie star looks seen in the likes of Hrithik and John.

Thanks anmol for stopping by and for your wishes.

It would be good if Akshaye got a healthy break in Philippines. I like Akshaye as he is, he is unique. he doesn't need to style himself like John or Hrithik or anyone else.

Yeah, you are right! Akshaye Khanna is "Unique" and I like his grammar of acting and his personality which are almost different from others.

^I agree with u and Akshayefan. U know what?! I've just read somewhere on the net that Ranbir Kapoor wants to do a 'serial killer' role...This reminds me, even I want Akshaye Khanna to play as the serial killer in a movie soon. I think it would be the biggest turning point for Akshoo. This suave actor is always competent that you just have to give him the best script and he would do it marvellously. Mark my word, this Khanna will really go far for he is so different from others. There is definitely no one like him. He is like a distinctive trademark that it is impossible to ape.

Akshayefan, in Bollywood, the hero needs to look good. Most directors will always take Hrithik or John in their movies, because they look like heros.

I know its not Akshaye's fault exactly, but his hairstyle does not help him out. Just my opinion.

^ A movie doesn't always need a hero. All depends on script that requires a character that one needs to search for an actor who can do justice to the character.

As for John, he looks more like a top model and good-looking hero with well-toned body than an actor. Of course, he can act. But, not all films need John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan.

There must be such a movie that needs Akshaye Khanna. A movie like Border, Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz, Deewangi, Hungama, Hulchul, 36-China Town, Salaam-e-Ishq and Gandhi My Father...needs Akshaye Khanna because of his look, style, screen presence, facial expressions, and acting skill.

You cannot think that John Abraham can do movies at least like Dil Chahta Hai and Gandhi My Father.

anmol here
akshaye has constantly risen from ashes and this is the main reason why i admire akshaye.
after border there were series of flops till TAAL came.
then there were another flurry of flops but DIL CHAHTA HAI COMES AS A BREATHER.
AFTER hulchul he disappeared for one year and then another flurry of flops started with shaadi se pehle but it took him another 4 years to rise again with RACE.
I BELIEVE GOOD LOOKS WILL NOT LAST FOR A LONG PERIOD BUT GOOD TALENT WILL ALWAYS REMAIN FOREVER
AND AKSHAYE HAS REAL GOOD TALENT
HE SURELY HAS A LONG WAY TO GO.

^I agree with all comments posted here. By the way, if Akshaye Khanna wants, he can look like a good-looking hero and great actor at the same time. Yes, Akshaye Khanna can do the impossible. After all, he is an incredible actor. Don't forget how Akshoo did his look in Dil Chahta Hai and then Humraaz and both were totally different. Akshoo has lots of potentials and he can do a lot that would surprise the audience. Also, Akshaye Khanna can do what John Abraham did in Doom, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal and Kabul Express in his own way. He would surely try different look for these John's movies like he did for Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz, Deewangi, Hulchul, 36, China Town, Aap Ki Khatir, Naqaab and Race. However, what you are saying is right... I agree with this fact that "You cannot think that John Abraham can do movies at least like Dil Chahta Hai and Gandhi My Father."

Now, all I can say is that Akshaye needs best scripts to prove his real worth. Also, top directors like Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Mani Ratnam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali must direct him in such a way that his best talents and acting techniques come out as the best of the best.

Hits or flops...I'm not worried about these things. Because Akshaye Khanna's talents and acting/performance are always the saving graces in most movies like Himalay Putra, Mohabbat, Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Deewangi, 36 China Town, Aap Ki Khatir, Salaam-e-Ishq, Naqaab and Gandhi My Father. Akshaye Khanna is always competent! He has proved that talents will make him alive as an actor!! Just look at his movies post Taal like Dil Chahta Hai and Humraaz as examples.

It doesn't matter how good of an actor Akshaye is. In Bollywood, you are judged on the basis of how you present your appearance. This is not Akshaye's high point.

You know how much your looks affect your chances of getting movie offers?

Actors like SRK, Saif, Hrithik, John are constantly trying to make themselves look good. As a result, they also get the offers.

^What about Arjun Ramphal, Dino Morea, Zayed Khan, Vivek Oberoi...?? Even "they are constantly trying to make themselves look good". As a result, they also get the offers but their performances aren't better than of Akshaye Khanna.

Uniqueness is equally important as good look and efficient acting skills for any actor. Like Nana Patekar, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Akshaye Khanna...

By the way, even Akshaye Khanna is a good-looking actor. So what if he's bald... Handsome men have the right to have a bald look too...

I have just seen Jannat - Emraan Hashmi's film with a newcomer Sonal Chauhan. A very good script and fantastic performance mainly by Emraan Hashmi. This actor is not that good-looking guy like John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan. But, his performance is simply outstanding. He is the soul of the film. Finally, a good script does matter! Akshaye Khanna is a good-looking actor and better actor Emraan Hashmi. Like him, even Akshoo needs a special solo script.
You know what? I want to see both Akshaye Khanna and Emraan Hashmi in a movie someday. I'm sure they will rock together and have great chemistry onscreen.

Anonymous said...

^Exactly! I think Akshaye Khanna and Emraan Hashmi are better actors than Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham!!
