Doesn't Akshaye deserve an Oscar?

Don't Anil, Akshaye deserve an Oscar? That's the title of this very positive review. We agree wholeheartedly. Akshaye does. Not just for acting. Just for being himself.

By the way, it's so kewl when it says not even Aamir Khan could have done the role himself. Go read it!

Of course, Akshaye Khanna deserves an award or an oscar!!I'm not saying this just because he is my most favourite actor but due to his acting, character and performance as Harilal Gandhi and also due to the sad story of real life Harilal Gandhi who happened to be the eldest son of the famous Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi/Mahatma Gandhi. Akshaye Khanna onscreen as reel life Harilal Gandhi is a worldwide performance since the life of Mahatma Gandhi started in South Africa! And, Akshaye Khanna has played the character of Harilal Gandhi with great maturity, understanding, sensitivity and spirit! He is excellent and extraordinary as Harilal Gandhi!

I don't think its quite his year to win awards.

I don't want him to win for Gandhi my Father. His performance has gotten good reviews, but not as great as you would have expected. There are those out there who'll complain about him winning.

If anything, I want him to win for an extraordinary performance, a performance which doesn't raise doubts at all. If you know what I mean. I just hope he gets some kind of opportunity like that- like a really good role

Exactly, but Akshaye Khanna still deserves to win critic award for the best actor and special jury-best performer of the year!! Whatever you all think or say...but, Akshaye Khanna deserves to win like Ayesha Takia for Dor and Kareena Kapoor for Omkara!

Yeah, I agree with you. Akshaye Khanna fully deserves to win. He must not miss getting the trophy. His performance is better or at least at the same level as Ayesha Takia in Dor and Kareena Kapoor in Omkara. But, I think that his performance as Harilal Gandhi in Gandhi, My Father is better than Kareena Kapoor as Dolly in Omkara and Ayesha Takia as Meera in Dor.

To play as Harilal Gandhi onscreen is a lifetime role for Akshaye Khanna. And, he succeeds in terms of his excellent performance and of giving a life and spirit to Harilal Gandhi's character. Thus, Akshaye Khanna has to win a trophy this time. He was complete natural as Harilal.

I wish akshaye khanna all the best. i too think that akshaye khanna is the right choice and contender to win the best actor award of the year. still it's too early to judge! Whatever it may be, Akshaye Khanna still deserves to win an award.

If the actor Akshaye Khanna proves that he can play the Harilal Gandhi's role better than the megastar Anil Kapoor and superstar Amir Khan...then Akshaye Khanna definitely deserves an Oscar!
